Mold / Rot Resistance

The EPS foam that is used as the core of the Solarcrete wall will not support bacterial or fungus growth. There is no food value. This has been proven through FHA test procedures. The EPS foam is completely encased in shotcrete, so there is actually no opportunity for it to be damaged or contaminated anyway.

The formulation of shotcrete that we use is that it is naturally moisture resistant. It bonds with the foam inside the panel and forms a moisture barrier. These moisture resistant shotcrete faces do not allow moisture to migrate through the wall or to collect inside the wall.

Since the concrete is impervious to moisture and it is insulated, moisture does not condense on the surface. This provides an environment that does not promote or support mold growth.
